My First Time Scuba Diving in Daymaniyat: What the Photos Don’t Show
My First Time Scuba Diving in Daymaniyat: What the Photos Don’t Show
I've come across a number of pictures of the Daymaniyat Islands, but none convinced me on how it felt like Scuba diving in daymaniyat on the first ever experience. The morning started with a soft muscat breeze as everything was silent, this was a clear indication that something good was about to happen. I clearly remember climbing onto the boat with uttermost excitement, and was thinking how the diving experience would feel as compared to snorkeling in shallow reefs and Oman’s marine life I had experienced before.
The ride was exciting. I couldn't believe how the water was super clean, the kind that made me forget that there was distance between the world beneath and the water surface. We had a brief explanation on the plan ahead. The guide ensured that we were all dressed in the right gear, and briefed us on Oman activities like exploring the coast and diving. I admired how patient and cool he was. It gave us the best experience as we felt safe even though most of us were doing it for the first time.
When we finally dived into the water, everything became silent and the sight was amazing. What shocked us the most wasn't just the depth —but the stillness of the water. While gliding across the coral, every experience felt like moving across a slow motion film. We encountered many turtles out of nowhere, swimming through the cool waters. A number of fish of different colours swirled around us, and for a while, I forgot that I was using a breathing regulator.
Everything went smoothly and nothing felt rushed. No noise, just me, the guide and the famous Daymaniyat Islands water world. All that experience made me understand why tourists keep returning to explore the Daymaniyat scuba diving adventures. This gives an untouched feeling and being part of something peaceful.
While we were already on the surface, the sun was bright with warmth. Every creature in the waters including the reef colours and turtles met unexpected encounters. At that stage, laughing together while enjoying the sun's warmth completed the trip with a high note. If you are looking forward to an amazing oman diving trip, you should put this at the top of your list.
I left while quite exhausted but having had the best experience. The only promise I had for myself was: I will be back for a dive again.
